How to change the metadata of a PDF
Open the document: the title, the author, the subject, the keywords, the application that produced it and the creation and modification dates show exactly as they are written in the file. Correct what needs correcting, empty what has no business travelling, and download. These fields are not cosmetic: they show in the document’s properties at your recipient’s end, in the reader’s title bar, in the search results of their computer, and often on the platforms that host the file. That is how a quote goes out with another client’s name, or a report still carries the name of the template it came from. The correction happens inside your browser, without uploading the file.
