How to delete a page from a PDF
Open the document, show the page to remove and delete it; or open the page organizer, select several pages — a blank page, a cover sheet, a duplicate, the empty form at the end — and remove them in a single action. The pages that follow move up a notch and the numbering follows. The deletion undoes for as long as you have not left the editor, and the original file on your disk is never modified anyway: you download a new document. The file really does get smaller, since the objects that served only those pages — fonts, images — are taken out of the file on export, not merely set aside. Everything happens in the browser, without uploading the document. A blank page forgotten in the middle of a scan is spotted at a glance on the board: it is the only one showing nothing.
What pointed at the page you removed
A bookmark or an internal link that led to a deleted page has no destination any more. Vélin checks them on export and realigns or removes them, so as not to leave links in the document pointing at the wrong page — a common fault, and invisible until somebody clicks.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a deletion?
Yes, Ctrl+Z gives it back to the document. Nothing is written until you download the file.
How do I delete several pages at once?
Open the page organizer, select the thumbnails concerned, and remove them together.
What happens to links that led to that page?
Vélin flags them: an internal link whose destination has gone is listed by the Links tool, so that you fix it rather than let it lead anywhere.
Can I delete a page on a phone?
Yes. The tool is under “All tools” at the bottom of the screen, and one tap is enough: the page on screen is removed, and Undo gives it back if your finger slipped.
Does the file really get smaller?
Yes: on export, objects left orphaned — images, fonts, resources no page uses any more — are taken out of the file instead of sleeping inside it.
